  • I Am Not A Time.ly Developer.

I have the same problem, and haven’t been able – yet – to come up with a solution. I understand that ai1ec does not have one either. You get what you get.

However, a search elsewhere led me to this: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/73190/can-the-next-prev-post-links-be-ordered-by-menu-order-or-by-a-meta-key – which leads me to believe that some customisation is likely to be possible.

I don’t consider myself knowledgable enough, yet, with WordPress’ inner workings but it’ll make an interesting task. For now though, I’ve used css to stop the Previous/Next links from showing. I’d rather do that than have a site visitor complain that things are not as they ‘should be’. (Hey – my site is hyperlocal. Most visitors are my friends and neighbours!)

    Hi,

The “Next” and “Previous” links are part of your WP theme, not a plugin, links open events depending on when they are created, not when they are happening, so unfortunately we can not help you with that. We’ll keep this topic open for a few days for other user to chime in if possible. Thanks for your understanding.

    Hello,

Thank you both for your replies. I imagined it was a WP feature but wondered if the event date could be used for ordering them rather than the post date.

I’m not keen on the idea of ripping WP apart either so I’ll probably follow your lead dday61 and just remove them. ??

Have fun all, and thanks again.

    Karl
