Order numbers are wrong, but link to the correct order in WooCommerce

    A customer of mine who relies heavily on the functionality of your plugin brought this problem to my attention today.

    First of all I have done all your recommended troubleshooting steps before starting this topic, and I’m running the latest version of the plugin (2.9.2).

    The problem is simply this:
    The order numbers shown in the order number column are all incorrect, but they do link to the correct order. For example, I placed a test order and in the list of “customers who bought this product”, it shows my test order with the order #5343 (we have order number column turned ON). However, if I click the order number 5343, it opens up the correct WooCommerce order which is actually order #4994.

    Since the link to the WooCommerce order actually leads to the correct order, it’s really only an order number display problem. Can you please update your plugin to fix this or tell me how I might go about doing this?

    FYI… I have already cleared WooCommerce transients, etc.

    Thank-you. At first glance i’m not seeing any plugins for which have known incompatibilities. Is there any way you can disable all plugins except for mine and woocommerce to see if that fixes the issue?

    Unfortunately not. This is a live website, and their host doesn’t support staging versions of the site. Therefore, I’d need to set it up elsewhere and honestly, this isn’t the kind of problem that warrants that kind of time investment on my end.

    It’s clearly a bug in the plugin, but since the incorrect order number is still linking to the correct WooCommerce order, it’s rather a trivial problem, but my customers (and me) would of course like to see it working properly.

    If that’s what you need in order to move forward with troubleshooting, then it may just be easier to find an alternative and begin recommending that solution to my customers who need this functionality.
