ORDER NOTES text formatting, where do you keep the text that you copy and send ?

    hello,

I have a problem when sending messages to customers through “order note” field.

I keep in gmail DRAFT the text that i send to customers, but when i copy a text from Gmail to woocommerce, the text formatting is never correct and i have to add blank lines and format the text manually to go to next line.

Do you know why the text copied from gmail draft is not formatted exactly the same way in Woocommerce ?

Where should I keep the texts that i send through woocommerce orders notes to keep it formatted and not have to edit it when sending ?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi there,

The text sent via the order notes is cleaned with some WordPress core function to prevent any formatting that’s why.

You could change this default behavior with some custom coding and in particular with hooks.

    Hi there,

Since this involves custom coding I’d suggest you contact a Woo Expert at https://woocommerce.com/customizations

Hi- Something I found useful was to add html to the email that I chose to go with my order note – so for eg if choosing completed order from the ‘send order email’ drop down list I had added a thank you note and a ezine sign up call to action. Might be of some help to you ??

I also found that changing the default subject line in the customer note email settings ( wooc- settings – emails) meant emails were properly received.
Then the customer gets an email saying (for eg) Tanks for shopping with us – here’s your tracking id – and then the order details for their ref with your html coded info at the bottom of the order info…

should clarify – I added the html code in the email message area for the completed order email.
