Hi guys.
I have a problem with your plugin. Sometimes customers see an error message after they have completed their payment:
Payment verification error: order ID missing for payment confirmation
The payment is regularly processed by Stripe but, since they see the error message, my customers often make a second payment that each time I need to manually refund.

To confirm, the order itself is successful and you can see that the status is then processing or completed via WooCommerce > Orders?

We’ve seen some reports of this problem and so far, it tends to be caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:
- Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
- Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
- Repeat the action that is causing the problem
If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Hey Hannah, thank you for your message!

Answering to your question, all my orders status are set as processing or completed after I receive a successful payment.

Every day I get dozens of orders and most of them have no problems: my clients use the Stripe Gateway and see no errors at all.

The order ID missing for payment confirmation message appears only rarely (approximately one time every 2-3 days). So I don’t think is a problem of plugins conflict.

As a confirmation of this, in the past weeks I tried several times to run a conflict test without finding errors.

I think that the problem could be caused by an occasional bad communication of your plugin with the Stripe API.

Any idea about how to solve this problem? Thank you for your help!

Thank you for the additional information, @gubros!

As you mentioned, the issue is intermittent, and you yourself have trouble replicating it. This makes it a little tricky to troubleshoot.

That said, from the System Status Report you’ve shared with us, there are some things you can immediately check in case your issue is due to your server configuration. Specifically, can you please reach out to your hosting provider about adjusting these?
- PHP Post Max Size: 8 MB to at least 64 MB
- PHP Time Limit: 60 to at least 300
- Max Upload Size: 2 MB to at least 64 MB
While there’s no guarantee that these adjustments will solve your issue, they are still worth looking into. For reference, you may also want to look at these server configuration resources:

Just FYI, I was running WC 5.1.0 and the plugin version was 5.0.0

I just updated to the latest versions, hoping that the issue will be resolved.
