Is it possible to let [events_list_grouped] list the events from newest (top) to oldest (bottom)? Currently it lists them from oldest to newest.

  • EM user here ??

By default the list is ordered by event start date…
    See: https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/event-search-attributes/

    Try:
    [events_list_grouped order="DESC"]

    Personal note, though:
If I visit a website’s upcoming events, I would personally find it more logical to see the first upcoming event at the top of the list. So, to see tomorrow’s event, I would not have to scroll all the way down. It’s known that people often do not like to scroll too much. Just a well-meant thought, but it’s all up to you of course. ??

@duisterdenhaag: Thank you for your answer. Adding order="DESC" indeed works. In this case though the order seems to be reversed by default (first old, than new events). Maybe this is caused by other shortcode options?
This is the shortcode I am using: [events_list_grouped mode="monthly" scope="all" order="DESC"][/events_list_grouped] Without an explicit order="DESC" option, the resulting order would be in reverse, from old to new.

    Hi Strarsis,
To be honest, your use of “old” and “new” is a bit confusing to me, especially without a link or screenshot. ??

But it sounds like your shortcode is also showing past events? In that case, you need to add scope=”future” to your shortcode, OR change your EM settings to only show upcoming events by default in Events > Settings > Pages > Default event list options.
