Order failed – The EntityManager is closed

Hi, I have recently had a failed order. The payment transaction was completed, however the order is the marked as failed. The customer is not redirected to the order confirmation page and does not received email confirmation. The note on the order is as follows.
A payment of £XX.XX failed to complete with the following message:
The EntityManager is closed
.Could you please advise what this error means.
