Order emails not sent, put on hold automatically

I guess this started with the recent update? Which is odd, because I actually noticed this started happening with orders backdating to June and I hadn’t change anything. I barely log on to this website because I just fulfill orders based off the emails I get from it (stupid I know). But I noticed no orders were coming in for a minute so I checked the backend and there are like 10 orders all on hold (orange) but payment was captured in PayPal. I am using PayPal Standard. Can anyone help as to why this all of a sudden happened?
