Hello, I would like to buy your plugin for my business, but I am missing an important feature. Is it possible to set “order deposit” somewhere? but I don’t mean the blocking of money in case of product destruction, but for the reservation. So that someone does not reserve something for the whole month, blocking the product for others and then canceling the order (the day before).

    use case:
I want to set somewhere central that the “reservation deposit” will be 20%. the client selects the product they wants to rent in the standard way (number of days, etc.). and during the final summarization, it will be written to them “renting this product will cost you 1000. You must pay 200 now as a reservation deposit and then you will pay 800 when you come for the product (by cash or terminal or whatever).”

is it possible? because I can not see this functionality in your demo. yes it is possible to set some additional money, but it is not possible to pay only part of value.

    Hello,

Thanks for your message. We understand you’re not looking for a damage/security deposit that should be refunded in case the product returned is not damaged. You’re rather looking for a deposit to secure the reservation, hence to request a partial payment of the order total amount in order to confirm the rental order.

That’s indeed possible. You can find a dedicated setting in the Configuration page of VikRentItems (2nd tab “Prices and Payments”). Thew setting “Pay Entire Amount” should be disabled, and in your case you should provide 20 under “Leave a deposit of”. Just select the percent value for the deposit amount so that the system will request a payment of the 20% of the rental order total amount in order to confirm the reservation.

However, please notice that this setting is only useful to those using the commercial version of the plugin. This is because the deposit feature is only applied before starting an online payment transaction, i.e. through PayPal. The free version of the plugin does not support custom payment methods, and as we said, only real bank gateways that will start a payment transaction will actually apply the deposit to calculate the proper amount to be paid. This means that an offline payment method of the commercial version of the plugin, such as the “Bank Transfer”, would not support the deposit feature for the sole reason that no transactions will be started. That’s something that would work with any real payment gateway like PayPal, Stripe etc…

    We hope this helps!

Thank you very much for the answer, this functionality could suit me. I would like to ask if you have a money back guarantee. I would like to buy your plugin and try everything on my DEV environment. I saw your demo site and it’s great for an idea of ??how everything works, but I’d like to try it in practice. But I’m afraid that I’ll come across something that won’t suit me. can I then count on returning the key and returning the money from your side?

    Hello,

That’s something you should probably discuss with our commercial team through our website, because it’s off topic on this forum. Our refund policy is quite strict after you register the domain license for a commercial plugin, but if you ask us in advance, I’m sure you can get to an agreement with our team.

    Thank you,
    The VikWP Team
