    Hi,

How is it possible that an order is COMPLETED with only “PAYMENT INTENTION STRIPE…” in order note ?
    Usually i have 3 notes
    PAYMENT INTENTION STRIPE…
    STATUS SET TO COMPLETED
    PAYMENT COMPLETED ON STRIPE
    thanks

    Hi @pipoulito

The order note “Stripe payment intent created” is typically the first step in the payment process, where the customer’s intention to pay is recorded. The order status is then set to “Completed” once the payment for digital products has been successfully processed. For physical products, the order status will change to “Processing” after successful payment.

However, if you’re seeing an order marked as “COMPLETED” with only the “PAYMENT INTENTION STRIPE” note, it could be due to a few reasons. This could result from a delay in the communication between Stripe and your website, or it could be due to an issue with the Stripe Payment Gateway plugin.

For better assistance, can you provide screenshots showing the issue on your end?

For screenshots, I recommend https://snipboard.io/ for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL(s) in your reply.

Additionally, please can you share a copy of the following:

    • System Status Report: Navigate to WooCommerce → Status. Select Get System Report and then Download for Support.
    • Fatal Error log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce → Status → Logs.
    • Screenshot showing your Stripe setting (WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe > Settings > Account details)

You could copy and paste your reply or share it via Mozilla Community Pastebin and send the link here. This will help us investigate further and provide you with a more accurate solution.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hi,

Yes usually i have the same as your attachment but here i have only one line on order notes: Stripe Payment intend…but the order is COMPLETED. I use only virtual products and i use autocomplete status plugin to set orders as completed when payment is received.
For other orders it works normally (like on your attachment)

    Hi @pipoulito

It seems that the issue might be related to the autocomplete status plugin you’re using. The plugin might be setting the order status to “Completed” before Stripe has a chance to add the other notes.

I recommend temporarily disabling the autocomplete plugin to see if the issue persists. If the issue is resolved, then the plugin could be the cause. You may need to contact the plugin developer for further assistance.

If the issue still persists after disabling the plugin, please provide the additional information requested earlier (System Status Report, Fatal Error log, and Stripe setting screenshot). This will help us investigate further and provide you with a more accurate solution.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Hi,

thanks but if the payment has been received on stripe dashboard, it is better that the order is set to completed , right ?

    Hey, @pipoulito!

But if the order is paid for and it is not updating by automatically on WooCommerce, we need to figure out what is going on to fix it. Even if the plugin fixes it now, keeping it working incorrectly might cause other issues. So we need to know if the issue happens without this plugin ??

Also, I noticed on your System report that you have outdated versions of WooCommerce and WordPress.

We recommend keeping everything updated. Regularly updating everything helps maintain your site’s security, performance, and compatibility while ensuring you benefit from the latest features and improvements.

So please also update WordPress, all plugins and your theme to make sure outdated versions are not causing the issue.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

Orders shouldn’t go to the on-hold status much less stay on said status, something else entirely may be causing this issue, and it’s best to troubleshoot and fit the root issue so you can skip ussing the auto complete plugin, and the Stripe plugin can work properly updating the order notes and status as naturally.

First, we can see your WordPress and WooCommerce versions are out of date. Could you please try running all pending updates and seeing if that fixes it? You can take a full?backup?of your site before doing that or try the updates on a?staging?site to make sure nothing breaks while doing so.
    ?
Please let us know the results of your tests. Once everything is updated please try disabling the auto complete plugin and placing a test order. Let us know how it goes!

    Thanks!

Sorry I sais on hold but it is processing.
I have made all the updates

    thanks

    Hey, @pipoulito!

    Thank you for the clarification.

Unless a product is both virtual and downloadable, being automatically set as Processing is the expected behavior. And the default would be to manually change to complete once the order is finished (when the customer has access to the virtual product, or when they receive the product in case of physical products).

As I understand, your product is virtual, but not downloadable, but you don’t want to manually complete each order so you use a plugin to automatically complete them correct?

And while using this plugin, one order was completed before it was paid for, right?

If this is the case, as my colleague explained it is probable this plugin that marks orders as complete did it before Stripe could actually finish processing. So please reach out to this plugin’s support so they can help you make sure this does not happen again.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful day!
