As I can’t release new version yet do the following:
– In file: class-birthdays-widget.php after line 191 add this

uasort($filtered, "cmp");

– In file: birthdays-widget.php at the end of it add this

function cmp($a, $b) {
    return strcasecmp($a->name, $b->name);
}
