    Did the order by meta key bits get taken out? Is that maybe something that’s going into core (cause that would be awesome)

    Sorry for the late response here!

    The main issue we run into is that the REST endpoints don’t allow sorting by meta_value so while it would work on the front end, it wouldn’t in the block editor.

    That being said, this is a great idea and I am working on a way to get around the limitations in the block editor. If I can crack it, we can add this sorting option as well as any of the ones supported by WP_Query

    Ah, I see that that’s a (big) problem for this feature request, indeed.

    Version 1.3.0 added more sorting options for meta including meta_value and meta_value_num.

    I’m going to close this out as resolved but if there are any more issues or feature requests, please feel free to open a new issue!
