• I use a paid-for version of Product Catalogue on bespokeauctions.co.uk.

Every month, I delete all current products and then upload about 350 lots from a spreadsheet. The lots are named Lot 1., Lot 2. and so on. I normally use the Product Sorting option in Options|Premium to get the lots in the correct order.

This month, this stopped working. It’s just not possible to rearrange 350 lots per month manually. What can I do to get my lots in order please?

Also, the lots appear in the spreadsheet in the correct order.

    Hi Martin,

The Product Sorting option has only ever affected the front end. It does not affect the default starting order. The only way to control the starting order is to use the drag and drop functionality in the catalogue/categories or to change the order directly in the database.

How do I change the order in the database please?

Or, is there a way to set the catalog to Name Ascending when it is first displayed? This used to work fine, but now it’s a disaster for us.

    Hi Martin,

If there was a previous version that worked better for you, all previous versions are available at:

To set the item order in the database, you would change the “Position” column in the “UPCP_Catalogue_Items” table. Products are entered into that table based on Item_ID.

Thanks for that. But is there a way to set the order when the catalogue is displayed – that is, set the catalog order to Name Ascending by default?

There’s no option for this. The only way to control the starting order is to use the drag and drop functionality in the catalogue/categories or to change the order directly in the database.

OK, thanks. I’ll try an older version, but failing that I’ll have to find an alternative catalogue. Rearranging 350 lots at a time is not going to happen.

    Thanks for the support.

    Hi Martin,

Please let us know how it works out. We are looking for a fix in the meantime. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Best regards,
