Orange border spam message with no captcha

i have removed my Captcha keys, as i was having issues like many others – everything was treated as spam – and now i still get the same message, with no captcha!

There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.

Does anyone have any help? This is on a live site and i have a very angry client, who, this moment is ok letting ALL the spam come in. So i removed the keys, and still getting the message.
