    Hello,

Can you tell me what problems would cause the error message in the title? I am getting this error message every time I try to save some css code on the plugin options page. It worked once, then I made a change to the css code, and haven’t been able to save it since.

    Thank you,
    Valerie

    Hi Valerie,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

Most likely, this is a problem with file access rights.

Do regular automatic plugin and WordPress updates work on the site? Or do you have to do them manually via FTP?

    Regards,
    Tobias

Hello, Thanks for responding. Actually, I am working on my localhost right now. Its just a Windows 7 PC. So, a file permission issue seems unlikely … UNLESS … (and I just thought of this this morning) I was viewing one of the css files that you write to in an external editor at the time I tried to save the settings from the Admin Dashboard.

I was poking around looking at your files to see how you set everything up. And, since I was able to get one my custom css codes to work once or twice, I am wondering if that is what was happening.

So, I will do a little more investigating and let you know later today if I resolved the problem.

    Thanks!!!

    Hi,

yes, that could indeed be a possibility! Nice catch! ??
(Note that you should never directly edit any of the three CSS files that TablePress generates in the “wp-content” folder, to be sure that the minification and concatenation is not broken. The “Custom CSS” should only be edited via the textfield on the “Plugin Options” screen of TablePress.)

Now, as this is a local issue, you should probably not waste too much energy into it. On the server it will probably work out of the box, if things like plugin updates work.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Well, now I feel like an idiot. The problem WAS that I had a file open in the editor at the same time I was trying to save the settings. So sorry I bothered you. I know you are very busy supporting your software and I sincerely appreciate your reply.

You made a great plugin and it is going to help me out a lot!

    Thanks,
    Valerie

    Hi Valerie,

don’t worry, no problem at all! ??
Good to hear that you found the cause for this!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
