• Hello again,

I want to give WP users the ability to subscribe for the newsletter using radiobuttons (yes/no) in the update profile form. I don’t want to use the widget because I want them to register with their WP Email.

    I now see two options:
    1. I switch roles depending on whether the user said yes or no. Therefor I would like to know, if I can trigger the list syncing via php.

    2. I register/unregister the user directly via php. Therefor I would like to know, if there are any functions I can call to do so.

In addition: If the are registered the first time (and only then) I want to send them a confirmation email. This would apply to both solutions.

    Thanks in advance.
    Dirk

I will see if I can get one of the developers to answer your first couple questions. I don’t know the answers to those. But in regard to your welcome email, that functionality will be released as auto responders. Most likely, that will be a pro feature, but since it is not finished I can’t say with 100 percent certainty. But it is one of the things we are working on.

Talked with the dev team. We all agreed that you have a good idea. We are going to add it to our release board and make it a pro feature. We think the way to do this is to add manage settings to the user profile page.

If you want to upgrade at some point when we get it released send me an email doug at sendpress dot com and I’ll send you a discount code.
