• I’ve gotten a few sites up and running no problem with WordPress. I’m quite happy with it, except for one thing: searching for plugins.

When searching for plugins, it is not uncommon to have the entire first or second page of results be widgets that haven’t been updated in years, and aren’t compatible with anything above 2.1.5 or something quite old.

There really needs to be an option to search only for plugins compatible with your current version. Or at least reasonably likely to be compatible (ie major version match)

Fixing search is on the list.

That said, many plugins aren’t listed as working with the 3x branches but actually work just fine. Not every plugin dev goes and updates the readmes to the latest and greatest because there’s no need to do so.
