Option to input Facebook App ID is missing in Yoast

    Hi
    The option to enter my Facebook App ID in the Yoast plugin is missing on my WordPress backend. I have navigated to Yoast SEO > Social > Facebook and the field for ‘Facebook App ID’ is missing. I have entered the Facebook Business page URL (Accounts > Organisation social profiles > Facebook Page URL). I have created and activated the Facebook App in my Facebook Developers account. I have checked other WordPress sites I have and this option is present. Can you please advise? I have a screenshot available if required.

  • From the 15.5 changelog:

    ? Removes support for the Facebook App ID, as Facebook has indicated this feature is deprecated on their side.

    Thanks for replying so quickly and so comprehensively. So when the Facebook Sharing Debugger indicates that ‘Missing Properties: The following required properties are missing: fb:app_id’, I can just ignore this? Or do I need another plugin (other than Yoast) to fulfil this property?

    Hi @paultidal,

    Not having a Facebook App ID doesn’t interfere with the ability to share posts on Facebook. It was only necessary for other Facebook features like Insights. See this Yoast troubleshooting article.
