• Hi Bj?rn!

Is it possible that you can add an option to BJ Lazy Load preferences so it is possible to disable BJ Lazy Load for external loaded images?

The main reason for this is because BJ Lazy Load breaks functionality for some plugins that loads images from an external domain.

Currently we always have to inform users that they have to uninstall BJ Lazy Load since it rewrites the image tags even for images that are loaded from an external domain.

Not sure. I’ve been busy lately.

BJ Lazy Load shouldn’t have any issues with images from external domains (except for the experimental features, which I hope to fix soon).

What plugins specifically are you seeing incompatibility issues with?

I do not really know what the experimental features is about?

I am experiencing problems with BJ Lazy Load when loading images from some external domains and it would be great if there was an option to exclude external loaded images (from other domains) in BJ Lazy Load or if it was possible to add some domains to a some kind of list and not use BJ Lazy Load for those domains.

Do you think this is possible?

As an addition to this request:

I had problems with Amazon affiliate links as the invisible 1px tracking pic was resized by Lazy load to about 100×100 pixels, breaking the lay-out. So, I would second the option to have external pictures enabled only as an option, as generally it would be nice.

In general it might also be a good idea to be able to set a minimum dimension for the Lazy Load to kick in, so that very small thumbnails and 1px files are not resized.

    Thanks!

I also had this problem with a image from AddThis Share image.
I added a dead link for placeholder image, and blocked the request in ‘Block Bad Queries’ plugin (my custom modifications).

It loads perfectly for images with empty alt “”, else it looks ugly.

You can use the “Skip images with classes” option to make sure BJ Lazy Load doesn’t apply certain images.

E.g. you can add a class “lazy-skip”, “external” or “tracking” to the img tags and then add those class names to the option in the backend.

That sound a little bit complicated!

Is it possible you can add an option to exclude external loaded images (not loaded from the same domain) in the settings so normal users can exclude these external loaded images?

You can use the “Skip images with classes” option to make sure BJ Lazy Load doesn’t apply certain images……

I like this idea as I need to turn off lazy load for a certain image. If you can provide a little info on how to do this i would be really grateful

It works great with images but is it also possible you can add this option to iframes?

The best would of course be if you can just add an option to disable BJ Lazy Load for external domains. Much easier for the end user.

Is it okay for you if I fork BJ Lazy Load and add this extra feature myself and publish this plugin on WordPress as a “BJ Lazy Load with extra features?”

Trying one more time and hoping that the Author add this basic(?) functionality:

I’m sorry, but I see no need for this myself, so I won’t be able to make room in my schedule to add this feature.

I’m however happy to receive pull requests on GitHub: https://github.com/bjornjohansen/bj-lazy-load
