    Hello,

I’ve been looking to see if there is a way to add the option for a customer to “Add a Tip” to their order, for when they’re paying by credit card (CC uses a gateway on the site). Is this possible? I took a look around the documentation and other posts but had no luck. If there’s any info you can provide that would be fantastic.

    Thank you

    Hello,

So I don’t see that option under Order Form.
The user in that post referred to “Field 11”. I only see 10 in my options: Name, Email, Address, Phone, Payment, and then Custom Fields. I’d get the idea of typing in a tip, but that wouldn’t automatically apply to the total, I’d imagine.

EDIT: I did a test plugin installation on a fresh site and the option is there. Is it possible the existing installation needs some sort of database/table update? If so, is there a way I can run that?

how old is your version of wppizza you are running there ?

it’s not a question of db update, but simply of using a relatively recent version of the plugin (this option was added at least 4 – if not more – years ago )

See I get that, but that’s where my confusion came from, as the plugin is up to date, as I just ran the most recent update and has been for quite some time. I had installed it a couple of months ago.

When I’m in the Order Form settings, the only field not there at all is Tips/Gratuities.

I made a clone of the site on a testing server and deleted/reinstalled the plugin, and now that option is finally there. I don’t know why it wasn’t there, as the plugin has always been kept updated.

Only downside is if I do this, then all of the menu items/ingredients will have to be set up again. Is there a way for me to export them so that after reinstalling the plugin I can import them? Or will I need to set them back up again manually?

Thank you for your help so far

can you make a clone again and simply de-activate all other plugins (and using a default WordPress theme) just to narrow things down first of all
(perhaps even enabling debug and checking your debug.log)

    >Is there a way for me to export them so that after reinstalling the plugin I can import them

really depends on what else you have installed, but it’s not likely to work to be honest so i would somewhat advise against it to be safe

i.e – until we know where the issue might be- i would suggest you leave your production server in peace
