I see that adding an individual event to calendar is a base function. Is it possible to let people either 1) subscribe to the calendar or 2) add all published events to their calendar?

    Hi @echoleaf, great question!

    1) subscribe to the calendar

    Absolutely.

If you check out our demo site you’ll see we add an +Export Events button/link below the calendar. This really just links to an iCal representation of the calendar, which can be consumed by most calendar applications and, effectively, allows users to subscribe.

    2) add all published events to their calendar?

The above answer basically answers this, too, but I’d add a caveat that in most cases it won’t automatically cover all events, as the iCal feed defaults to upcoming (future) events rather than past events. To protect the websites on which the feed is generated, it also limits itself to only contain a fixed number of events.

I hope that answers your questions but let me know if I can supply any further detail.

Is that link only available for calendar view? For an org that does 4-5 events a year, the calendar view doesn’t make sense. Or maybe I could customize the event list template to add it?

And how many events is it fixed to? Will it update as new events are added?

Nope, not at all: you will find that link on all views (example: list view on our demo site) ??

It defaults to the next 30 events, though this can be customized. It’s generated dynamically, so under default conditions it will always provide a fresh and up-to-date list.

Lovely, 30 is plenty. And I didn’t scroll down to the bottom of our events page to see the button until now!
