I’m having the same problem. No popup, just the form on the page. I deactivated all plugins and it still does not work – same error.

It’s a really nice MailChimp plugin and I don’t want to scrap it for another if I don’t have to, so any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hello Folks,

This can be caused for many different reason. If you’re getting this message it usually means the subscriber was denied by MailChimp.

Usually it’s just a connection hiccup with the API, so try getting a new API key from MailChimp and resetting up your forms, and respecting a list.

Make sure you are not using emails with ‘test’ in them, as MailChimp will reject these and other similar emails.

If none of these steps help please get back to us and let us know. Have a form ready for us to inspect as well, and we’ll see what we can do.

Thank you for responding and for your willingness to help. I assigned a new API key to the form as you suggested and everything looked good from within the plugin. But alas… when testing the form again, I received the very same error: can’t add user. I have a screen print of the error, but I don’t see a way to upload it here. You can see and test the form on the website: lifescorepurpose.com on the home page as you scroll down. Thank you again.

This is so sad. I’m going to have to pull the plug on this plugin and go with another that actually works.

I find a solution . I delete the old Mailchimp list and start a new one from scratch . Today it works perfectly. For those who have this problem you can try this ??.

if there is no other solution, I am not going to bother, too much work.

Maybe there is other solutions. But I’m sure the one I tell you works.

I start from scratch and it was very long to do it. Maybe you should try. Or I think fatcapapps will help you for sure.

    Hello folks,

Sorry for the delay in response. We’ve been looking more into this, and are not sure what could be causing this for so many users. It may be something different for each of you.

First, if anyone here is not getting a green checkmark, and missing the ability to choose from their lists, then this is probably a local wordpress problem. Skip to my instructions a little further down on how to search for conflicts.

If your lists are selected, we’ll want each of you to contact MailChimp. Your lists settings can create an issue here, or there could be a problem with the list itself. Make sure there is nothing wrong with your current list, and also inquire if they see anything be sent to them from our plugin.

You’ll want to ask them specifically if they see recent activity coming in through the API, and if they can see any of the emails you have tried. If they see any activity they should be able to determine the problem.

If MailChimp does not see any activity from us, the problem does not have to do with your lists, or MailChimp account. If that’s the case, a plugin or your theme may be causing a conflict, and preventing us from communicating with MailChimp.

To search for conflicts, please follow these steps.

    1. First please deactivate all plugins except [Plugin] and see if the issue persists.
    2. If the issue is resolved, reactivate your plugins one by one to see if the issue returns.
    3. If no conflict is found among your plugins, try reverting to a default WP theme like ‘Twenty Sixteen’, or ‘Twenty Seventeen’, and see if the issue is resolved.

Feel free to put your site back as it was. If you find a conflict with a plugin or theme, please send let us know what it was. If not we’ll keep looking for the issue.

This is a lot of reports in short time, so we want to make sure there is not a larger issue at hand. We need to eliminate the possibility of any conflicts, Mailchimp issues, or possibly even hosting issues to be sure.

Hope to hear back from you all with more details. Thanks for your reports so far everyone.

My plugin just stopped working the day I updated the plugin. It was working just fine until then.

    Hello again

I know. Sorry for the trouble. This is an isolated incident, only affecting a few customers. Obviously a few is too many, but we have been unable to replicate this issue and are not sure what is wrong.

As such you’ll need to try some troubleshooting and get back to us with the details. We want to assist, but need to verify it is not a connection hiccup or a conflict, please let us know your results to the above steps and we will do what we can.

    Hello there,

Wanted to come by once more before closing this thread. If anyone here has made any progress or still requires assistance please let us know.

While I don’t want to recommend anyone rebuild there entire list, as that’s been successful, I recommend trying a new list just to see if it differs. If not try the above steps.

If we don’t hear from anyone in a few days I’ll come mark this resolved.
