    HEy Opa,

This isn’t a super urgent question but do you have any general tips for making sure WPPA is running as fast as possible?

I’ve made sure my site is all updated, I have very few extra plugins besides WPPA and I’m running the latest version of the plugin. I do have an art heavy site with close to 3000 semi-high res (1100×1100) images and close to 100 galleries. I suppose I am doing all I can but perhaps you can recommend some housekeeping things to make sure.

    Thank you!!!!

Can you supply a link and set the debug switch in Table IX-A3? Then i can see timings etc.

    General tips:

    – Do not use exif and iptc if you do not need it ( switch off in Table IX-H7,8

    – Keep hi-res sources ( See table IX-H ) but resize on upload for display files. See table I-A2

    – Use EWW Image optimizer plugin, see Table IX-D17.

    – Lower jpg image quality ( Table IX-A2 ) if quality is not a high issue, do not set lower than 70.

    – After changing the above, run Table VIII-A11: Remake, to make it effective. Also – if you do not use iptc and exif – run Table VIII-B2,3

    Hey Opa!

Sent you an email with some log in details for the site. I did a little looking around and it seems like something is causing things to run slow in the gallery. The first time a gallery is entered using a new browser window is the slowest and subsequent visits seem to be faster.

Maybe there is something else I can turn off to allow things to move quicker? I did the above but didn’t notice a giant speed jump.

    Thanks for any help!

Received. I will come back to you later.
I often have internal server error ( 500 ). Can you look into the server error log what the reason is?

Thanks – yeah, that is what I am trying to figure out (the cause of the 500 errors). The site is has a very high CPU load and uses a ton of memory. I am getting warnings from my Service Provider and looking at what could be causing it. Right now I have taken out many of my normal WordPress plugins and/or disabled them to test. I don’t think it’s WPPA but I am not sure after running some early tests.

    Any help is definitely appreciated!

Implemented the changes per Opa’s recommendation and waiting to hear back from my host provider.

    Thank you Opa!
