I installed your plugin today and optimized a number of images in my media library. I like the way it works; being able to see which image is being optimized is nice.

I am not exactly sure how the paid account works. I would like to know that if I get the paid account will I still get 500 compressions (or 100 free images) a month? I have photos left to compress in my media library. If I don’t get a paid account, will I be able to compress them in March for free up to the 500 compression (100 images) limit?

Plus, once I have optimized all of my images in the media library, then each image I upload will be automatically optimized, up to the 500 compression/100 images limit of the free account and the paid account, if the paid account has the free part?

I have requested that I be notified by email once I reach 500 compressions. Since that is the number of free compressions, I felt this would be the best limit. Is that correct? Or should it be another number?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi @sharenmcarthurgmailcom,

You will always have 500 free compressions per month. If you register for a paid API account, then you will be able to compress more than the free limit. You can try the price calculator on this page https://tinypng.com/developers#pricing to see how the pricing works.

If you don’t get a paid account, you will still be able to use 500 free compressions each month.

If you upload new images each month and you have set the plugin to compress upon upload, then the plugin will use your free compressions if you have any left for that month.

Feel free to use the notification mail how ever you like. If you want to be notified at 500 compressions, then you should use it that way. When you are on a free account your compressions will automatically stop at the 500 free limit. Then you can wait until next month and use your new 500 free compressions.

Hope this information helps. If you have further questions, please just get back to us.

Thank you for this information. It is very helpful.

I meant to ask you in the first email if you compress images for plugins, like those for Instagram and Pinterest.

    Hi @sharenmcarthurgmailcom,

The plugin will only compress images that are located on your server and in the Media library. Hope this answers your question.
