I found the chrome pagespeed tool and I tested it out on my isoptope index page on your theme – my page is loading slow because of my images. The images that I uploaded is 640 x 640 BUT I used the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin like you said to resize images so it should be using the smaller images, no?

Here is one of the suggested image scaling solution:

The following images are resized in HTML or CSS. Serving scaled images could save 1.3MiB (87% reduction).
https://dtjin.htpwebdesign.ca/…/honey_mustard_bbq_chicken_thigh-640×6… is resized in HTML or CSS from 640×640 to 208×208. Serving a scaled image could save 130.2KiB (89% reduction).

  • Images are tricky. They usually carry a lot of extra info you don’t need. I like to use SmushIt to crunch down the image sizes before uploading.

I’ll try it. Thanks. I’m about to post another question : )

Is there a way that I can make the Author’s images larger in the Simone theme? We just updated our blog’s theme and while overall Simone is excellent, the very small size of Author images seem a bit out place. Appreciate some input.

The author image size in the author box is set in inc/author-box.php on line 96. You can override the setting in a child theme.

The author box only goes to line 68. Am I missing something?
