I am wondering how the Optimize integration is done.

Optimize can be installed via Tag Manager, synchronous, and asynchonously.

How does this Plugin install Optimize?

Also, is there a way to NOT load the Anti-Flicker script on all pages?

Hi @ifixwordpress thanks for getting in touch. Site Kit adds your Optimize ID to your site’s <head>, placed within your Analytics snippet as recommended by Optimize For more details,?see this guide. If you want to test variations of your pages, you can use Site Kit to set up Optimize easily—no code editing required.?Learn more about Optimize.

To ensure that this flicker does not occur, go to?Site Kit > Settings > Connected Services > Optimize?and turn on the toggle for?Place anti-flicker snippet on your site, then click?Confirm Changes.

It is also worth noting that in January 2023,?Google announced that Optimize will no longer be available after September 30, 2023. Experiments and personalizations can continue to run until that date.?

The Optimize module will also be removed from the Site Kit plugin on or immediately after September 30, 2023.
Google is currently exploring integrations via Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and other tools to allow for future A/B testing. If your site is not already using Google Analytics 4, we strongly recommend adding a Google Analytics 4 property as soon as possible. For more information on how Site Kit works with Google Analytics 4, visit this guide.

Thank you Adam. I already enabled Optimize and Anti-Flicker on my site. I am still not clear *which* version of Optimize SiteKit installs. It seems like it’s the asynchronous one, am I right? I can’t tell how it’s being loaded right now.

I have an Optimize Experiment running on just one page via “Page targeting”. However with the current SiteKit installation Optimize and Anti-Flicker are loading on *all* pages via the site’s <head>. I guess I am answering my own question here but I was looking for a way to load optimize and anti-flicker on just that one page that has an experiment, I guess I will need to create a custom <head> for that page rather than using SiteKit.

@ifixwordpress Thanks for the follow up questions.

Site Kit doesn’t load the Optimize snippet by requesting the full Optimize script (<script async src="https://www.googleoptimize.com/optimize.js?id=OPT_CONTAINER_ID"></script>?– as per?this guide).

It adds a users Optimize snippet to a users Analytics snippet (which includes the Asynchronous tag). Does this help to answer your questions?
