Optimizations for the search field

  • I’m using this plugin in a website with over 16000 posts and the search to add a video is very slow and has some issue.

    • If I press an arrow key the search is executed again
    • It’s not clear the way the video are ordered, maybe by the date? Can be useful to see that in the list
    • Default video in the search list (we have a jolly video to use when we don’t have any)
    • Add a text under the video
    • Sometimes is very slow to show the list, it is possible to add a caching system for the search? Sometimes I have to look for the same term often but I have to wait
    • The tooltip width is very short but there is enough width in the editing page to avoid this problem

    Hi Daniele,

    thanks for your observations.

    The plugin lets you add a title and a description for every single video but inside the player, not under it.
    If you have this need is easy to find a solution, for example creating a custom shortcode.

    Unfortunately, all the other points are not about this software, since this free version doesn’t allow to connect to JW Player Dashboard using the API.

    Anyway, I will consider your suggestions for a future update.

    In my case the text is because they want to add a explanation of the video like Related video, because in other cases can be other stuff.
