Optimal Options to save optimized SVG files with inkscape

    Hello SVG Support and Community,

    I’m trying to use SVG files with WP and on the topic trip I’ve found your very solid supported Plugin. Thank you for all the time and work that you offer just for free.

    I do use inkscape to edit SVG files and there is the option to export optimized SVG files:

    I think you have more experience with this topic but I don’t know if you are using inkscape, so I have some questions ??

    1. Which are the best options to save optimized SVG files with inkscape in order to be compatible with the SVG Support plugin?

    2. Is the inkscape optimization based on Scour equivalent with the optimization of Save SVG based on DOMpurify?

    Thanks for your support.

    I do not use inkscape at all, so I can’t answer anything on that front I’m sorry.

    As for using my plugin with Save SVG at the same time… Again, I have no experience with this. I suggest you just try them out together on a staging or development environment.

    Sorry I can’t be much more help, but I simply don’t use both pieces of software you have mentioned.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    I was curious about the plugin “Save SVG”… Do you mean Safe SVG? I can’t see a Save SVG anywhere…

    That plugin uses a library to make sure (as good as possible) that any uploaded files aren’t malicious. If it’s only you uploading, then it’s not really needed. My plugin also has an option to only allow admins to upload SVG, all of which should be trusted to not upload malicious files before assigning admin roles.

    Yes, I mean Safe SVG :). And thank you for clarification and that option, I use it.

    At this moment I know the basics of how to optimize an SVG file with inkscape, so I thought optimizing and sanitizing are in a way similar. I’ll find more about this and post back, maybe this will help someone else.
