Hi, the Opt Out function in privacy preferences center is not visible on mobile. Also on desktop it is somewhat strange in terms of visibility.

Stuck with the description how to Opt Out ! What do I need to set if for instance I want to mention Facebook and Twitter? Just https://facebook.com looks insufficient to me.

I now get a great looking bar asking for consent on my desktop. As I have NO readers logging in, just read and linked to developers readers still can use the website not dealing with the GDPR bar. So if they choose NOT to click I Agree they still can access the website.?? When it is used on websites with a Log-in , readers need to agree or face no access to the site. So why is this policy not for sites without a login, but with subscription like Mailchimp, Google Analytics etc etc ?

Still great job done. Nice and clean. However the Privacy Preferences Center does not seem to have any influence on site access ?? I have a full listing of all cookies set in PPC but choosing Opt Out makes no difference and nothing is logged in any way.

Need to get some help to see if what I do (fill in for cookies etc ) is done the right way…..

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @harrij-mensinga,

This issue is because you did not fill the cookies section correctly.

I’d suggest you follow these steps.

In this article, I explain how you find out what cookies your site sets and how you input them in the plugin settings.

You can also look at this (outdated) screenshot and have an idea of how it is supposed to look like.

After registering cookies, the ones set by third parties you should link to their instructions to opt out or to their privacy policies if opt-out instructions are not available. The ones your site is setting using your domain, you can use our helper functions to block or enable functionality.

The same thing goes for blocking and enabling functionality based on consent.

You can read more about all this in our documentation https://gdpr-wp.com/knowledge-base/

    Pffff, I can not believe this cookie tracking/tracing etc is done by millions of website owners. I am fairly in touch with computer science but this takes expert professionals to figure out what is what. And how to handle the cookies. I get strange cookies like ;

    gdpr[allowed-cookies]
    %5B%22%22%2C%22%22%5D

    gdpr[consent_types]
    %5B%5D

    PHPSESSID
    dd6b5300b6d77eb4f70e89f64979418a

Now beats me what to do with this information, and I wonder 2 billion websiteowners will struggle the same…

    Hi @harrij-mensinga,

It can feel overwhelming. I agree. But don’t get discouraged.

For these three you mentioned, you should have a cookie category called “Strictly Necessary” (You can have a different name if you want). Add these cookie names separated by a , like so: gdpr[allowed-cookies], gdpr[consent_types], gdpr, PHPSESSID. Set it to required or always on and save. That’s it.

If you have other cookies you should do the same, but categorizing them accordingly. If you have optional cookies, you should also read this. This will show you how to enable or disable some functionality based on consent and cookies.
