Opt-out for Statistics and Marketing

    Hi,
    thanks for the great plug-in! After implementation the cookies for Statistics and Marketing are opt-in. Is it possible to make them opt-out as standard?
    Or do they have to be opt-in by law?

    Hi @mailtobb,

    If you are referring to ‘pre-enabling’ these categories, this is not allowed per GDPR, considering pre-checked categories ask the user to opt-out instead of explicitly opting in (as per the requirements).     However, your site currently loads Analytics without waiting for consent to the “Statistics” category in the Cookie Banner. This is likely because you havent set the “Firing Trigger” of your Analytics tag in GTM to one of the Complianz events, such as Statistics consent.

    You can follow these steps to import the Complianz events in your GTM container, then change the Firing Trigger of the Analytics tag to (Default) Trigger Statistics. That will make it wait for Statistics consent.
