Opt-ins not showing

    Hi There

    Double opt-in is active both in MC4WP and Mailchimp. Test subscription shows success on the front-end, but activation email (i.e. confirm subscription) is not pulling through. I’ve tested this a multiple times without success.

    Note: The emailing function is working at Mailchimp.

    The question is, where do pending subscriptions go, and how do I retrieve them? Also, I need help with activating subscriptions.

    Hi,

    If it shows “success” in the log on MC4WP > Other (after setting it to “log everything” instead of just errors), it means the email is successfully sent to Mailchimp. From there it’s out of our hands as it’s Mailchimp sending out the opt-in email. Possibly it has to do with the “from” address and your SPF/DKIM settings for that domain, causing the email to go to spam.

    I’ve double-checked with Mailchimp and this is what they say:

    ??When using the API – you can change double opt-in to single opt-in by bringing over subscribers with a “subscribed” status instead of a “pending” status.

    So, I tested this and it works. But it violets GDPR compliance.

    Now the question is, can you guys alter the MC4WP plugin to activate double opt-in “confirm subscription”, and send subscribers with a “subscribed” status without violating GDPR compliance?

    I’d really appreciate this adjustment. And I believe it could help so many people.

    Hi,

    Our plugin has the option to turn on or off double opt in under MC4WP > Form > Settings.

    Double opt-in, while recommended, isn’t actually a requirement for GDPR compliance as far as i know.
