I added the Optin forms plug-in (which is my favorite and the best I can find, by the way). After tweaking some of the code on my style.css child page (ie. changing header sizing, moving navigation bar, etc), I have lost the opt-in form and can’t seem to get it back. I even tried un-doing some of the changes I made and it is still nowhere to be found.

I am a newbie with WordPress coding (though catching on pretty quickly) and I just need to find out how I can get it back.

I am running a child theme of twenty eleven.

Is there something I can add to the style.css page?

  • Hi bound4wb,

First of all, thanks for the compliments ??

Secondly, I can’t seem to know what’s going on without seeing your website. Can you share the URL where the form should be included, so I can take a look?

    Thanks!

Thanks so much Boris! It’s a work in progress: https://www.thattagurl.com. I just got it up and running and the banner should be under the header in the main space. I have everything set up with it in wordpress and set it to be added to main page but can’t seem to get it back since I lost it….I actually plan to put it on every page but until I figure out what the problem is with my page links not showing anything, I have to settle for the main page.

Thanks for your help. We LOVE this opt-in and really want to use it. It’s even nicer than the ones provided by AWeber.

    Hey bound4wb,

From looking at your source code, I can tell that the plugin is activated and all the necessary files are loaded.

However, the plugin relies on content (posts or pages) in order for optin forms to appear. It seems that you have no live posts or pages at this time.

Try publishing a test post and see if the post and the optin form appear on your website ??

Okay…I got it fixed but I can’t seem to get the opt-in form on the Home page…only the pages that link out from the navigation menu.

Also, do you plan to make it so that we can attach the opt in form to the top or bottom of banner at some point?

Thanks again for your help, Boris!

One last thing…when I type in my email address in the space, nothing shows so I am assuming the font is white…who do I tweak that?

    Hi bound4wb,

    Glad you got it fixed.

The feature to add the form to the top or bottom of pages (including home page and archive pages) is planned for future releases.

You can edit the color of the text field in the administration panel of Optin Forms, click on the Form tab, expand the Style Your Form section and look for the option called Input fields color.

    Hi Boris,

One last question. I made a quick sample post to test a few items and for some reason, the opt-in keeps showing up on it, even though I didn’t put any short code on the post. Can you take a look at it and tell me why it is doing that and how I can remove it? I couldn’t find it in any of my code. (https://thattagurl.com/hey-girl-hey/#respond)

    Thank you again!

    Hi bound4wb,

the plugin will add optin forms to your posts and pages automatically, depending on your choice under Form Placement.

If you wish to disable this on certain posts or pages, enter the post ID or page ID in the Exclude fields.

If you wish to add the form manually, select the “Don’t display on posts” and “Don’t display on pages” option. After that, you can add the form to any post or page by using the shortcode.

    Hi Boris,
I tried setting it to “Don’t display on posts” and “Don’t display on pages” and it is still coming up on 3 pages. but I checked the page code and don’t see a reference to it.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hi bound4wb,

I am looking at your site and the form you are using is not generated by Optin Forms. Are you sure you aren’t using two optin plugins?
