• ok, i installed openx, put a banner in it. defined a zone and linked the banner to it… generate the javascript code and no go.

i believe i need to post this code in the template… but i have no idea what to do. is there a how to?

i can view the template code from within my wordpress site and assume that this is where i need to insert the code for the zone to show up.

any help will be appreciated. i’m a quick study…

  • Hi,

Integrating OpenX with wordpress — first make sure you know your way around OpenX – I would suggest trying out the Quick Start guide and User Guide, setting up some basic banners and campaigns and placing invocation tags on test pages (Using Javascript invocation tag is a good simple place to start).

    https://www.openx.org/support/documentation

Afterwards, you simply want to place the zone invocation tag wherever you want the banner to show – for this you need to know your way around a bit the wordpress templates. The general wordpress help docs and tutorials can show you how to edit your template files.

There is an unofficial wordpress plugin currently out, however the main homepage for the plugin seems to be gone.
We have recently built Joomla and Drupal plugins and WordPress is on the list.

    Hope this helps,

    OpenX

    Thanx for this info.

It would be nice to have a WordPress plugin that could intergrate OpenX with WordPress without the need of having to edit the templates. The plugin should add the OpenX zones to posts and pages.

Too bad I’m not a coder myself …
