Opening Mail issue

We believe we have identified the cause of this issue. It seems some HTML formatted email messages cause an error when the message is being opened.

A fix for this particular issue will be released soon. We trust this resolves the issue for all concerned.

v1.8 is expected to resolve this issue.

Please advise if the issue persists with v1.8

I’m having this problem using v1.8

Investigating this. The issue is around character encoding and handling different content types. Hope to have this resolved shortly for a 1.9 release.

1.9 is expected to resolve this, at least in most cases, if not all. If you do have issues in this area please report the language and the nature of the content if possible.

ok I have 1.9 and when I first installed it it worked fine and then Ilogged out and logged in and nowit is not working when I click anything

The most common cause for “nothing” working is some sort of JavaScript conflict.

Is the styling applied correctly? Do you see the icons in the toolbar buttons? If not then it may be that the Javascript in this plugin is not running due to a conflict with another plugin. If you have a manageable/short list of plugins please send us the list and we can test with that configuration.

Alternatively you can disable plugins and then enable them one at a time to isolate where the conflict is.

I also have the same issue and after deactivating all plugins still have the problem.
I did some other tests and found it works on

• internet explorer

But not on

• Safari
• Opera
• Chrome
• Firefox

These are all the browsers I would normally test a site on and to have it only work 1 in 5 is a big problem for me.
So I guess after all that my question is do you have a fix yet or is there an alternative to this with the same options because it is perfect for my needs if it can be fixed

I have turned off all plugins and it still does not work.

It would be nice if instead of a javascript pop up it would simply opena new window to send an email or if you click the box on the left and there was a menu item called reply- that might get it to work better because the compose email button works

I Agree with you ‘informative’ it works for me if it is that way too.
Please lets get a great idea working easier with less chance of conflict.
It is a great and very needed plugin

Also if it did open in a new window you may be able to add a plugin of canned responses – click a button and it auto fills in the email would replace my need for zendesk (which I cannot stand but is the only thing that seems to work)
