Opening Calendar Events In New Window/Preventing Reset of Calendar Month

Hello!

If you go to a future month and click on an event to read about it, it will open in the same browser window. Then when you go back to the previous page to view the calendar again, it always resets to the current month rather than the future month you were trying to view.

I am wondering if there is any way to make the calendar remain on the month the user previously selected so that they don’t have to re-enter dates every time they open an event.

If that is not an option, is it possible to have all events open in a new window?
