Firstly, I have been so impressed with this plugin! It was working absolutely beautifully, but today I noticed that although I have the button setting to open the PDF in a new window, and it used to work perfectly, just today, in Firefox it always goes directly to download. In Safari it still seems to be ok, and I haven’t tried any other browsers. Any idea what could cause that? Thank you

    Hi rudegoose,

I just tested it in Firefox with ‘Open PDF in new Window’ selected and PDF was opened in a new window.
I’m going to need more info in order to reproduce the issue:
    – can you post here an URL where I can reproduce the problem?
    – what version of Firefox and operating system(PC or MAC) are you using?

    Thanks,
    Emili

Thank you so much Emili, I am using Firefox 50.0 on Mac OSX 10.9.5. The odd thing is that it was working perfectly, but has now stopped only in FF. Is there any way I could PM you or email you the link to test please? The site is publicly accessible but not yet officailly live and I don’t want to publicly post links yet.

Hi again, I had thought it might just be something unique to my system, but have just tested the page in Firefox on Windows and Mac OS using Browserstack and it displays the same behaviour in both, although it works perfectly in Chrome, Safari and IE.

    Hi rudegoose,

I tested with the same versions as you (Firefox 50.0 and 10.9.5) and I went able to open the PDF in new window.

Before continue investigating, please test if it works here:

    Thanks,

    Hi Emili

Thanks for your help on this. I tested your page by clicking the “PDF Button” link at the top, and like my site, it did open a new window (blank) and then immediately downloaded the PDF rather than open it in the browser window. I then tested your page in Browserstack with Mac OS Mavericks and Sierra with Firefox 49 and it did the same thing, which I think means that it’s not something that is unique to my Mac? I have also just now tested your link and mine on a real PC in Firefox, IE and Chrome and th behaviour was exactly the same – all good in IE and Chrome, but downlaods directly in Firefox.

    Thanks

    Hi rudegoose,

the problem is that I can’t reproduce the issue,
I just did a video how it works in my side,
in this example I’m using Firefox 50.0 and Mac OSX 10.9.5.

    Thanks,
    Emili

    Hi Emili

Ok I understand, thanks for your time. I have just reset my own Firefox preferences and it has made no difference. I can’t try your own links again at the moment as your site seems to be down, but I think I’ll just have to write it off as a minor problem that’s not going to seriously affect the functioning of the site.

    Thanks
    Zoe
