Installed latest version of WP phpMyAdmin. Immediately confronted by dreaded white screen … “Unexpected “(” blah blah blah in line 182 of index file of plugin. Opened in host code editor and, sure enough, found an open-close parens “()” at end of line 182. Removed it and got my site back. Haven’t tested the plugin yet, though. Anyone else encounter this?

  • Hello. thanks for reporting.
can you exactly copy & paste that message? its important to understand if the problem is with PHP version installed on your hosting, or this plugin.

As an assumption, I think that you might be using php lower <= 5.4 version on your hosting, and that line might cause the problem, yes (because our plugins are not built for old php versions).

However, as an attempt, I’ve committed a small change to code, and you can try to delete the plugin, and then redownload/reinstall again from wp plugins. and let me know if that fixed your problem.

Thanks for responding. I am using PHP Version 5.6.39 on host (SiteGround). I deleted the plugin, as you suggested, and reinstalled the plugin once more, with your code changes. This time, it appears to have loaded and launched without a problem. Therefore, the changes you made to the code appear to be working. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks for your quick response to my problem. Keep up the good work; it is a very useful plugin to have. Cheers. Eric Wolferman
