"Open links in new tab" ticked by default

I have been searching the forums, but couldn’t find a solution… The new features to get links pasted quickly within posts are great, but unless I can set the “open link in new tab” box ticked by default they are pretty much useless to me because I have to open the dialog box and tick the box every time, so I am no better off.

Can we get this option implemented?
