open lightbox from image link that is not part of image group to display

    Hi,
    I am using this plugin and it works great, it is here:

    The big image at the top opens a series of images in the lightbox. However I would like to put a graphic on top of this image, such as a plus sign, that indicates there are more images to view. I can easily overlay this plus sign on the image, but how do I make the plus sign open the lightbox containing the 4 images? What should it link to to force open the lightbox displaying the 4 images in the group? I also do not want the plus sign to appear in the group of images displayed in the lightbox.
