Open graph image not updating

  • My question is about the open graph image (Open Graph = The preview image that is show when a page from my website is shared on FB, twitter, etc)

    My problem is that I can’t change mine. It is stuck. When I update it to a new image from the media library, it doesn’t replace the previous image.

    My image is 1200 x 630px

    Is this a known issue? Any ideas?

    Hello!

    Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and many other platforms create a cached copy of your site when a link is shared. This cache can expire within a few days but may also be held indefinitely for a single embed.

    You can try this tool for Facebook to see if your changes are working: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/. There, when debugging a URL, you can hit “Scrape again” to fetch the latest information. Note that this tool erroneously warns about the obsolete fb:app_id tag — so you can ignore that.

    You may find that another plugin or theme may be interfering with The SEO Framework, such as adding extraneous data that supersedes TSF’s Open Graph output. I cannot tell if this is happening without a link to the page you’re trying to share.
