  • I’m also stumped on this. When I attempt to create an Open Graph action-object pair, I get a “Create Story” dialog box with a section for actions and a section for objects. I can select “Article” from the object section, but the action section is blank. If I type “Publish” into the “Create a new action type” box, add it, and select it I receive an error message: “A custom Publish action is restricted. Please use the common Publish action instead.” I’d certainly select Publish from the list, but it’s just not there to select.

I’m sure I’m missing something, but I have not a clue what it could be.

This problem has been posted SO many times here and elsewhere on the internet. I’ve not once seen an answer to this and I’m totally stumped! There’s absolutely no documentation on this and no help what so ever.

Documentation explaining setup of a Facebook application’s object and action is available on the Facebook Developers site. You may set up your types before customizing your story.

    Hi there,
I have the same problem. And the documentation is more than bad. I have the new interface and that is the disaster. It isn`t similar to the old interface and facebook’s documentation is only for the old interface :-(. So if someone could help me I would be very thankful!
