Open gallery with one thumbnail

@krammet – Using an album will create a situation where you can click on a “thumbnail” to open a gallery display (thumbnails, slideshow, or ImageBrowser) … or are you referring to opening a Lightbox of all gallery images when clicking on a display of a single thumbnail?

Although I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this, you could create a gallery to show thumbnails and customize this output to show only 1 image per page (you would need to hide the pagination) and then also set the show hidden images to yes as well. It may not be pretty but it may work for your circumstances.

I’ve had it before in earlier plugin releases.(the code was rather large) It was a page that only displayed fliers of events, then when someone clicked on the flier, the lightbox gallery would open up(showing every pic in the gallery). Seems like theres a lot of people trying to do this, but no one seems to have a clear answer.

@krammet – That reads like it may have been a custom template, do you recall if that is/was the case?

it was a custom code, but I dont remember where I even got it. I just know it took me forever to find it lol

@krammet – I do not recall ever coming across a custom template like you are suggesting but if we do, we will see about possibly adding it.

In the meantime, have you considered suggesting this sort of layout as a Feature Request (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/feature-voting/), we would be interested in your thoughts on this.
