Open comments or SAML comments?

Is this Saml integration only for WP-Admin accounts? I have a site where I am using bbPress for forums and I want to use SSO for site Admin. Can I have both? or must my commenters be anonymous?
What about gravatar/Avatar support? will that work as default WordPress?
