Opaque player bar
-
For some reason the single player progress bar is not showing transparent as it does in the demos. See the bottom of this page:
https://bayouwoman.com/dale-stewart-bayou-woman-on-natures-edge/Any idea what might cause this?

Yes this looks to be a clash with the css from another element on the site. It will either be the scroll-to-top or recipe-card plugins, or the theme itself. Basically whichever one it is that is adding jquery-ui css. I’ll try and get a fix out in the next few days.
Simon, thanks for the quick response!
Would this issue also affect to popup? I get an error with those presently that says “you are not authorized to view this page” – or does this seem like someother security related issue?
FWIW I changed the tage “popout” to “standalone” to get around anyone using AdBlocker plugin (nice that I could do that – you were thinking ahead!)No, it’s purely a styling issue within the main site page.
Your server returns a 403 forbidden for the popout, which suggests it’s something to do with the server’s permissions settings. You can usually change these from within cpanel if your host lets you.
Let me know how you get on.
Running Plesk on the server (about the same) permissions are set pretty standard AFAIK…but any suggestions that I might be missing are appreciated.
hmm.. I’m not sure what to suggest, other than being a 403 it should def be sortable. I’ll have a little search around, if I find anything I’ll post back.
Any further progress on these issues? I tried disabling various plugins (as mentioned above and a few others using jquery) but no luck with the transparency…not a big deal. Tried some things to get the popout to work, but still returning the error code (in various browsers, just ot be sure). Not sure where permissions would affect this – tried altering permissions on the plugin folder/files, but same results.
Any insigts would be great.
FYI, I’ve poted several vversions here so ye can see
https://bayouwoman.com/radio-test/Ideally, I’m trying to get option 2 to work (the picture which opens the popout on click)…but then everything works except the popout and the transparency.
I don’t think this has anything to do with plugins on the site, or any type of conflict.
It’s effectively the server saying “I’m choosing not to serve this up to you”.
My advice would be to contact your host and ask them why their server returns the 403. Feel free to post back their response if you don’t get a sensible resolution. Sorry that I’m not able to be of more help with this.
Hey Simon,
I posted the question to the Data Centre and received this response:
[Wed Feb 11 09:55:31 2015] [error] [client x.x.x.x] client denied by server configuration: /var/www/vhosts/bayouwoman.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/mp3-jplayer/popout.php, referer: https://bayouwoman.com/radio-test/
This indicates that an issue with the coding is conflicting with what the server is expecting. Unfortunately, since we are not developers nor coders, we do not know what needs to be changed.
We recommend contacting your developer or coder to check the .htaccess file to see if something in there could be causing this issue. I see significant Allow and Deny rules in this file and it would be the most reasonable explanation for the error message. In addition, there are also redirect 403 codes in there that can also be causing this issue. I recommend removing everything from the file that is not required for WordPress to run as a test to see if this helps.
The .htaccess items they refer to are related to a security plugin – which I disabled complletely (and even manually removed the lines in htaccess) and made no difference.
I don’t know if this is relevant, but image popups work fine on this and other sites – are they using a slightly differrnt method for “lightbox”?.A good reply, have you also checked in sub folders for any additional htaccess files, esp the plugin folder?
lightbox effects generally aren’t popout, they are overlayed in the same page.
as well as checking sub folders (esp plugins folder), did you try removing absolutely everything from the htaccess? Are you sure you can confidently rule out htaccess as the problem?
Aye…that’s actually what I tried even before disabling the security plugin – just tried it again to no avail. Did a thorough check for other htaccess files – only in a backup folder and one in another plugin folder related to log files for contact form payment processing.
FYI, I also tried changing to the default theme, disabling all plugins except this one…no luck. It’s a bleeding mystery.
hmm frustrating. any chance of asking the hosts again for any other suggestions, mentioning that you’ve eliminated all htaccess possibilities?
Thanks for your persistence! Sorry for the delay…I am the “host” technically (leased server) <G>
Here’s some news, though. Your recent update seems to have fixed the trasparency issue – so huzzah for that!
As pfor the pop-up, I’m slowly diagnosing it…it appears to be some sort of conflict, but I can’t nail it down.
I created a new, empty WP site with the same theme and added your plugin – which worked fine in all aspects, even the popup. Then started duplicating plugins/settings from the other site. Thus far, I’m confused – as I’ve added all the plugins that could interfere and it still works…even the security plugin with all the same settings doesn’t bother it!
Perhaps if you could look at both the demo site and the working site and see if you notice anything in your “developers eye” that I’ve missed?
https://2shinobi.com/wordpress (there is a single audio link to popup…and a page listing all active plugins)

https://bayouwoman.com/list-plugins/I can’t access it at the mo (in test mode?), will try again later..
