Oops, there is nothing in your cart

When you revert to default theme did you clear the store theme cache. You do this on the Store Settings Presentation Tab.

Also if you are using any cache plugin such as WP cache you need to clear that cache as well and disable it.

I assume by NA for Gold Cart you are not using Gold Cart? just checking in case the versions are out of sync.

Yes, we’ve tried clearing the store theme cache with the default theme activated and disabling WP Super Cache. No luck.

You’re correct, we’re not using Gold Cart.

You can’t just disable Super Cache you need to make sure you delete is cache before disabling it or your just loading the cached pages.

It honestly makes no sense why any browser would work over another – considering Chrome is also webkit like Safari it makes even less sense.

IE I can understand it has issues with all sorts of things all the time.

Have you made any changes to this site recently… New plugins, theme, updated software such as wordpress itself, updated server side software such as apache, php or mysql?

Also have you tested the site for malware?

A link might be helpful.

Hi Edward,

This is why I’m asking for help. Even with the cached pages deleted, this is still happening. I have not done anything to the site, and the client was away on a tour when this happened. There’s no malware.

I did a standard WP Remote update of all plugins and WP two or three weeks ago, and updated the WPEC database within the site control panel.

I really would like to give my client his livelihood back so any help you can offer would be appreciated.

If you provide a link it might help to identify the trouble.

I’m sorry it’s difficult to see what the trouble is when we don’t see the site and see the site only from the user end.

Well, the shop begins at https://www.lightstalkersscotland.com/workshops and the shopping cart appears in the sidebar.

Are you saying you want a login?

When I visit your site I get the following

Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access /workshops on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I was not asking for a login ?? Just stating it’s difficult from just the front end.

Edward, this is bizarre. The site is live and functional and comes right up for me on my laptop on all browsers (Virgin broadband) and on my iPad (O2 3G.)

I’ve spotted this several times in error.log:

[18-Jun-2014 18:48:42 UTC] WordPress database error Table ‘homefolder_lightstalkin.wp_wpsc_visitor_meta’ doesn’t exist for query DELETE vm FROM wp_wpsc_visitor_meta vm LEFT JOIN wp_wpsc_visitors v on v.id = vm.wpsc_visitor_id WHERE v.id IS NULL made by do_action_ref_array, call_user_func_array, _wpsc_delete_expired_visitors

I think we’ve got it, but I’m not going to mark this issue as resolved until I’m absolutely sure.

It seemed to be a combination of two problems:
1) Browsers set to block cookies, and
2) The [shoppingcart] shortcode having somehow disappeared from the checkout page. The placeholder image was there, displaying even for site visitors, but not the shortcode. The shopping cart was displaying for FF and Safari regardless of the shortcode not being there.

Can anyone reading this please test the site? Add an item to your shopping cart, which appears in the sidebar, and then proceed to the cart.
