    I’m getting “Oops, something went wrong. Please try again later” for one particular subscriber.

    Background:
    The settings were incorrect when she subscribed and I didn’t know how to fix the issue, so I PERMANENTLY DELETED her from MailChimp. A pop-up informed me that I would not be able to re-subscribe her and she would have to resubscribe herself through the Signup form (MailChimp for WordPress) on my website. But when she uses the signup form, she gets the “Oops, something went wrong. Please try again later” endlessly.

    In wordpress dashboard, the debug log says this:

    Response:
    400 Bad Request
    {“title”:”Forgotten Email Not Subscribed”,”status”:400,”detail”:”prat********@gm***.com was permanently deleted and cannot be re-imported. The contact must re-subscribe to get back on the list.”,”instance”:”6a2fc07a-6d25-4460-8d3a-47616224d82d”}

    Everything matches up with my list fields, merge tags, and required fields.

    I’m at a loss…

    … was permanently deleted and cannot be re-imported.

    That means the specific email you’re testing with is not allowed to re-subscribe again after it was unsubscribed or deleted.

    For testing the form, a trick I like to use is adding a . anywhere in the name part of the gmail email address. Gmail will ignore the dots, while Mailchimp will see it as a new/unique email.

    Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let me know!

    I am also having this issue. Our sign up in the footer used to work, but now shows the Oops something went wrong error.

    Here’s what the debug log states:

    @heatherhere Thanks! ??

    @rubyslipper That is a different / unrelated error. It’s usually best to make your own thread on this forum so that your problem gets the attention it deserves.
    Please go to Mailchimp for Wp > Mailchimp and click the Renew Mailchimp lists button. Then go to Mailchimp for Wp > Form > Settings and make sure that a list is still selected.

    @lapzor Thank you! That totally fixed it! And sorry, I’ll start a new thread next time. : ) Super appreciate it!
