• Hello,

I was trying to customise my widget page (as in the one in wp-includes),and I over wrote my wp-admin/widget.php page with the wp-includes/widget.php page, accidentaly… Then uploaded the 2.1 wp-admin/widget.php wordpress version to wp-admin/widget.php.. Now – I just realised and uploaded the 2.5 version to the wp-admin folder from my upgrade package.

And now on my widget admin page, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_widget_description() in /home/twisted/public_html/wp-admin/includes/widgets.php on line 127

This is after the ‘sideblog’ plug in.

Nothing else displays after this error.

    Any one got a clue?

If I disable sideblog plug in, I get this error:

Warning: array_search() [function.array-search]: Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/twisted/public_html/wp-admin/includes/widgets.php on line 85

    Then the heading 'pages'

    Then this error again:

atal error: Call to undefined function: wp_widget_description() in /home/twisted/public_html/wp-admin/includes/widgets.php on line 127

    www.remarpro.com Admin

Delete the wp-admin and wp-includes directories and reupload them from a fresh copy of 2.5.

It’s the only way to be sure.

I dunno why I didn’t think of doing that.

    Thank you.

Excuse me joining this thread – I asked an acquaintance to set up a website (www.yellingvillage.co.uk) for me using WordPress. It has been live for a couple of months and content has been added successfully. Last night it was still working perfectly OK, but tonight it has crashed. Nothing. How do I get it ‘reset’?!! Any help welcome!

The only thing I can think of is firstly disabling all of your plugins, then backing up your database, and then upgrading your wordpress to the latest version, which might fix any bugs and kinks…

Perhaps someone else could help if you were more specific… for example what exactly isn’t working, the admin panel? no posts displaying? a php error on your homepage?
