• If you browse through user issues in the support forum, you’ll notice that the ‘Simple Banner’ is often covering up either the navigation menu or the website logo. The developer’s response to this issue works, but only if you buy the premium version that grants you with a Custom CSS box.

I applaud the developer though. He seems to have invented a new app revenue model: “Pay To Have It Actually Work”.

Thanks for creating an account today just to give the review @verbalr. If you look at my download statistics you will see there are 20,000+ active installations and only 62 support tickets so its pretty clear this is working for people without the pro features.

You should be proud. I’ve used hundreds of plugins over the years, and this is the one time I’ve been so frustrated that I had to create an account on WordPress for the first time ever, just to tell the masses how it’s improper to charge money for simple functionality.

You may think it’s funny that a customer realized that his banner was covering their mobile website’s essential product search icon a week after installing it. It’s not funny to others.

It’s not a badge of honor to have 62 support tickets on one ‘Simple’ Banner. What’s worse is that you’re not actually fixing the banner itself, but you’re providing users with gimmicky workarounds through CSS.

It’s not possible to create one banner at the top of a page that works for every website. Each wordpress site has much different javascript and CSS that applies to their theme. While this banner works for most, it does not work for all, and in my free time I try to get it to work with everyone’s site. I’m not sure what you mean by gimmicky workarounds through CSS, CSS and HTML are the backbones of webpages, so adding CSS is a solution, not a workaround. If you really don’t want to pay for premium, download a CSS plugin and use my solutions in that. I’m sorry a small charge and personal support for a plugin has gotten you all worked up this morning.

@rpetersen29 Rather than getting conspiracy theory about new accounts leaving reviews, and that is NOT suspicious at all BTW, how about just addressing the review next time?

This is a review. That’s all. It’s beginning to become a support topic and that will lead to this review being closed to new comments.

@verbalr This is not helping either.

Please keep it civil. Unless you actually bought from this author then you are not anyone’s customer here.

If you did purchase then you can’t get support here either.

@jdembowski I understand it may not be rare for new accounts leaving reviews since people want to leave bad reviews without having their name attached to it, but wouldn’t you view that as a problem? Would that not be similar to sockpuppets?

I addressed the review multiple times, it seems like this “customer” is upset because my banner did not work for his theme and he forgot to QC his mobile website for a week. I reported because his review was complaining about a pro feature pricing which is explicitly not allowed and not a review of the actual plugin.

I think it’s right to fear retaliation for expressing a strong complaint. Hence, I choose to remain anonymous. At this point, even if I were to provide you with my website address, I would feel quite uneasy.

Regardless, I’m trying to find a workaround with a Custom CSS plugin. The mobile menu activates over the page container as opposed to the page itself, which makes it especially difficult to implement a solution.

You want to explain to me about sock puppets? ??

Support for pro versions is not allowed here. Reviews are 100% allowed when the plugin upsells. Yours does.
