My client needs to change the payment method for shipping labels. When they login using their administrator account, and go to WooCommerce/Settings/Shipping/WooCommerce Shipping under the Payment it says “Only the site owner can manage shipping label payment methods. Please contact “myusername” to manage payment methods.” When I login I see that I can add a credit card, but they don’t want me to do it, they want to do it. I’ve never heard of site owner before. How do I make their userid the “Site Owner”? Where is that setup?

Here’s the screeen when they are logged in using their administrator account: screenshot

Here’s the screen when I’m logged in using my administrator account (connected to my email, not to [email protected]): screenshot

  • Hi @socialsparkmedia,

My client needs to change the payment method for shipping labels. When they login using their administrator account, and go to WooCommerce/Settings/Shipping/WooCommerce Shipping under the Payment it says “Only the site owner can manage shipping label payment methods. Please contact “myusername” to manage payment methods.” When I login I see that I can add a credit card, but they don’t want me to do it, they want to do it. I’ve never heard of site owner before. From what I understand, it seems like your client is having trouble managing the payment methods for shipping labels on their WooCommerce site. They are seeing a message that states “Only the site owner can manage shipping label payment methods,” and you’re unsure how to make their user ID the “Site Owner”.

The term “Site Owner” in this context refers to the WordPress.com account connected to the WooCommerce site through Jetpack. This is the account that has the ability to manage the payment methods for shipping labels.

To allow your client to manage the payment methods, you would need to disconnect your WordPress.com account from the site and have your client connect their WordPress.com account. Here’s how to do it:

    1. Go to Jetpack > Dashboard > Connections.
    2. Disconnect the WordPress.com account that is currently connected (your account).
    3. Ask your client to log in to their WordPress.com account.
    4. While logged in as your client, go back to Jetpack > Dashboard > Connections.
    5. Connect to your client’s WordPress.com account.

By following these steps, your client’s WordPress.com account will become the “Site Owner” and they should be able to manage the payment methods for shipping labels. For more information on disconnecting and reconnecting Jetpack, you can check out this guide: ?? Reconnecting and Reinstalling Jetpack.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions or run into any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to assist you.
