    Hello.

I have EWWW Image Optimizer installed and it has produced WebP version of my website’s images successfully. But only the header image is showed in WebP, every other images show the JPEG/PNG versions, even with WebP version available. If I add webp extension at the end of the URL I can see that the image exists.

I disabled cache and cloudflare but it says the same.

I’m using the Alternative WebP Rewriting and get the WEBP text in green. If I use the htaccess method I get the PNG text in red.

    Here is my website: https://www.pushevs.com

    It’s in a VPS running CentOS 7.

    Any idea of what’s wrong?

    Thanks!

Looks like your images are being lazy loaded or something of that nature, so the Alt Webp function is unable to find the image src properly. I’ll see if that is something that can be added in a future release.

    Hello nosilver4u.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I disabled the “Load images on scroll” function on my theme (Hueman) and now it works! Every Webp image is showed successfully.

Thanks a lot again. When that function is added to your plugin I’ll activate it again in the theme.

You made my day, thanks again!

You can try out the changes here: https://github.com/nosilver4u/ewww-image-optimizer (make sure you remove EWWW IO before activating the one from github

    Hi, thanks for the update.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work. If I enable the “Load images on scroll” option on the Hueman theme, images don’t even appear. The only image that shows is the header.

Thankfully the website is very fast, so I don’t even need that option.

    Thanks again for your work.

Woah, I didn’t test it in Firefox, just Chrome. In Chrome it works fine for me, but Firefox shows all missing images. Can you confirm that’s what you see also?

When I tested I got missing images in both browsers. Chrome and Firefox.

Both of my attempted webp fixes with lazy load/scrolling seem to be working inconsistently, so they will be disabled in the next release. As a result, I’m adding (built-in) lazy load functionality to the road map for EWWW IO, so that we can make WebP + Lazy Load a reality for anyone that wants it.

Thanks for your hard work. I’ll keep an eye on the changelog.
