Only the first 5 thumbnails load

Did you make any changes to the slider to load thumbnails in the right side?

no this is straight out of the box no changes.

Then maybe something conflicting with the slider plugin because the default slider output looks like that: https://wpfrank.com/demo/ultimate-responsive-image-slider/

Suggestion:
1. Try to deactivate another active plugin one by one.

2. If the 1st point didn’t work try to switch to the current theme.

Maybe this leads to finding out the conflicts.
